Introduction
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996), also known as AURORA, is a singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer from Norway. Born in Stavanger, she began composing her first songs and learning to dance at the age of six. She signed recording contracts with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records in 2014. AURORA became famous with her first mini-album "Running with the Wolves" (2015) and won the Norwegian EBBA Album of the Year Award, which included the subsequent dark horse work "Runaway". Later that year, she sang a cover of Oasis' "Half the World Away" on the soundtrack for a John Lewis Christmas short.

AURORA's debut studio album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (2016) received universal reviews, topped the charts in several European countries, and was twice certified platinum in Norway. Subsequently, she successively released multiple mini albums and recording albums. In addition to her solo work, AURORA has collaborated and co-written songs with other artists, including Icarus, Askjell, Lena, Travis and The Chemical Brothers. She has also scored films and TV series including "Girls," "Frozen II" and "Wolfwalkers." Among them, the theme song "Into the Unknown" sung for "Frozen II" was nominated for the original song at the 92nd Academy Award for Best Picture.
Why I like her
Her voice is very fresh while also being able to convey emotional delicacy and depth. Her ability to use her bass so flexibly to express the emotions and themes of the songs in so many different ways makes me so fond of her music.
